I have enjoyed painting landscapes since childhood when I painted a volcano in acrylics and was hooked. At 17, during my gap-year, I went to art classes. Arthur Phillips was my teacher. While at university, a hobby in photography became my focus. I moved to Melbourne for work as a teacher and got married. While in Melbourne, I took up my paint brushes and had lessons with Melbourne artist, Geoff Rogers. Raising a family and life then got in the way of art and for 19 years the paints, brushes and canvas remained packed away in an old suitcase under the bed, even after moving back to Adelaide in 1998.
Around 2009, I sensed God calling me back to art. My two sons encouraged me too. After painting several months with a friend from her church, I was invited to join Marion Art Group.
I am also the editor for the Marion Art Group iMAGine Newsletter. I believe my art is a gift from God for me to enjoy and to bring joy to others who connect with my work.
Below are a few of my works in acrylic, watercolours and pastels.
